The Optimist Club of Greater Vienna maintains W&OD Caboose #503 at the Town's Centennial Park on Church Street NE.  The caboose was donated by the Norfolk Southern Company and dedicated by the Town on September 15, 1990 as part of the Town's 100th anniversary.  The caboose is maintained for the benefit and education of Vienna children experience a bit of railroad history and its importance to the history of Vienna.  For further information about the Caboose, contact info@optimistclubofgreatervienna.org.

  Note: Railroad history was made in Vienna on June 17, 1861, where for the first time soldiers were brought into battle by train at the start of the Civil War.
