Annual “Fun Walk” sponsored by the Optimist Club of Greater Vienna to be held on October 4th, 2008
The Optimist Club of Greater Vienna is holding its annual Fun Walk for Growing Hope on Saturday October 4th, 2008 from 8:30-12:30 at the Vienna Mural near the W&OD Trail and Ayr Hill Avenue NE. Refreshments and Entertainment will be part of the event.
Growing Hope is a nonprofit group founded in 1998 by a group of parents coping with the devastating effects of cancer on their children and their families. Margy Jost, a board member of Growing Hope since 2001, known as the “play lady” has assisted in coordinating this “Fun Walk” with the Optimists for the last couple years.
The Optimist Club of Greater Vienna will contribute 75% of the events proceeds to Growing Hope and the remaining 25% to the Optimist International Childhood Cancer Research Campaign. Over the past two years the Optimist Club of Greater Vienna has raised over $71,000 for childhood cancer research and assistance to families of children with cancer. Click here for more details.
