Like our Optimist Club, Junior Optimist Octagon International, JOOI, Clubs seek to improve the world through community service. Our local Optimist JOOI Clubs at James Madison, George C. Marshall and Oakton High Schools and Louise Archer Elementary School conduct regular meetings, hold fund-raisers, plan social events and complete joint activities with the Optimist Club of Greater Vienna

JOOI club members have opportunities to participate in community service projects and fund raiser that benefit the community, develop leadership skills at club, district and international levels, and receive recognition through Optimist Club awards.

Octagon Clubs of Madison and Oakton decided to work on the “JOOI of Reading“ project to mentor elementary school students with reading difficulties.
