The 2010 Contestant Winners with Club VP of Youth Dick Gongaware

The Optimist Oratorical Contest gives youngsters the chance to speak to the world. More than $150,000 in college scholarships are awarded annually from this program. The Optimist Club of Greater Vienna Oratorical Contest is normally held in April with the winners competing in the local contest leading to the Capital-Virginia District Contest. The boy and girl winners of the District competition will each receive a $1,500 college scholarship. The topic for the 2010 contest was “Cyber Communication: Progress or Problem?”.
